Some consider the biggest issue of the 21st century be globalization and future shock.

If anyone is familiar with the term future shock (or if you can guess what it is just from the name) and if you live in the world today (which I\'m assuming you do) then you know how rapidly things are changing especially in technology. My theory behind this madness lies in the understanding of time. When I was younger time seemed to move more slowly. That was because I had not been in existence for very long. When we are eight years old a year seems like a long time because it is 1/8th of our lives. Now that I am older a year is only 1/21 of my life. This small(er) percentage seems to speed by and before I even know what the hell happened I am an \"adult\" swimming in responsibilities and bills with almost no idea what I am doing. Anyway, homo sapiens have been around for at least one hundred and sixty-thousand years (some argue more like1 9 5,000), agriculture has existed for around 10,000 years and civilization first reared its ugly little head about 7,000 years ago. Since the time the Mayans thought it would be a neat idea to chart the stars, sun and moon and predict our inevitable demise, mankind has been advancing and not at a steady rate either. Today we have robotic appendages that can read and translate our nerve impulses, today we can talk to anyone anywhere instantly, today one year is only one-one hundred and sixty thousandth of our species existence that\'s only .000625% WOW! No wonder things are moving so fast.

So that was my thought.

If you can give me an interesting response to this, if you are not a complete douche bag, if you can tell me where my posting title is from and IF (and this is a big one) IF you are four-twenty friendly then maybe I want to talk to you.
